Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

boston bike borrowing

So I'm due to fly to boston tomorrow evening, and i'd been planning on taking my fixie as I'm going for three weeks. I have a bike bag and everything and I've done it before no worries. The only problem is that the London subway maybe on strike tomorrow so I may have to take the bus to the airport. This means that they may not take all my bags (I've had bus drivers refuse to take all my stuff before).

So I was wondering whether anyone had a a beater bike I could borrow, of course fg is preferred, but it needs to be crap enough that I can leave it outside (yes I know, my g/f won't let me bring it in). I have decent locks that I'd lock it with, can even make it a bike chain lock for the saddle too. The other issue is that I'm very tall, 6'5", I normally ride a 63cm or thereabouts, though I can ride something a lot smaller as long as it has a massive seatpost.

If anyone's prepared to lend me something I would repay you with bike parts of your choice or beers. I really need to know by tomorrow morning latest, so I guess about 5am Boston time.

Thanks for any help anyone can give,

Simon
