I just think that stem (and bar) set up is particularly ugly on that bike and I think Cinelli could have made something more elegant.

I like the cinelli quite a bit. Which is suprising for someone who typically dislikes modern bike frames. It's very simple, but not. If it ends up being a nice frame, I might actually replace my current race frame with one. I would very much like a 1-1/8 threadless setup.

Apparently Cinelli is not 100% satisfied with that prototype build. Perhaps the showroom build won't rip the MASH bullhorn.

The actual laser was a genius innovation, and way ahead of his time. This bike is cashing in on something that people dont really understand, with only the most minimal of similarities.
Carleton was right, a Laser reissue wont ever exist.

The track ends are pretty ugly, too.

Whatever, all you haters are just pretending not to like it so when you can't buy one you won't be jealous.
But seriously... interesting about the design team:
‘Today thanks to the rebirth of steel and people like yourselves, a dream is about to be realised: the Cinelli Laser will return. Not just as a museum display, but as a track machine; rigid and lively, more so even than its predecessor 20 years ago. All the original protagonists are ready and motivated; Andrea Pesenti who built 300 throughout the 1980’s, myself Antonio Colombo who thought them up, Paolo Erzegovesi who engineered them, and Emilvano Montorio who pulled out the tubes. New in the band will be Alessandra Cusatelli, my partner, and Cinelli design co-ordinator of the last 10 years. As always, it will only be available in limited editions. The kids are alright!”

They seem to be steel... otherwise it would make no sense whatsoever especially from cinelli who should long have known better than to make aluminum ends w/o frame savers.
