Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? While you knowledgeable gentleman are on the subject, besides Affinity and Spicer, who else makes an affordable track pursuit/sloping top tube frame?

Looks to be just a triple triangle design. If that wouldve been been a track pursuit triple triangle Id make a daily beater out of it in a heart beat.

Nice bike.

This is an EXCELLENT photo to describe old vs new style of frame design. The main triangle is what we now call "Compact Geometry". The top tube has simply been lowered (obviously). Notice how the drop stem that used to be necessary to get the bars in the right position now seems awkward. Why go up so high just to come down again?

The logical steps would be to:

- Lower the spot where the seat stays meet the seat tube.
- Use more seat post
- Trim the head tube
- Install a rise stem to meet the bars.
- Come away with a significantly lighter bike because you used trimmed so much material from the frame.

Boom!:

This will be on the test next week.

5 spokes, not an aerospoke, doesn't look like an iO.

Only acceptable 5 spoke is an iO.
