Campy Pedals Require Cleats?

I keep reading about cleats being worn with these type pedals, are they necessary? Or will I be fine with Chucks?

Thanks

They do not require cleats. You'll be fine with regular sneakers.

But they are very little surface area and in chucks that may be somewhat less then comfortable.

Thanks. I bet they'll be more comfy than my current Shimano 600esque pedals that require cleats.
