Profile Racing also makes their fixed hubs in BMX spacing.

That is an awesome frame dude. Ever since I started fixed riding I figured theres got to be some flatland competitor using a fixed set up, it just seems like it would allow a lot of really different tricks to be completed and thus give 'em an edge.

Yea, but the two times I went to the X-games in SF and watched the flatland competitions everyone seemd fairly derivative (not that it wasnt still impressive). My point is that it would make the competitor stand out, and that they seem to stay off the pedals quite a bit anyway.

I don't know about that man, flatlanders pride themselves on individuality in their style. Trevor Meyer is a horrible example, because he was winning contests for a few years by copying Chase G. video parts.

Fixed gear flatland tends to make more sense to me than destroying track bikes. All of the zen with less broken parts.

I welded up a freewheel on an old bmx while working/stuck in Alaska for s&g. Was fun for tooling around, but had no real use.

Alot of the BMXers who come in to the shop like the profile flatland specific hub-freewheel combo. If you don't pedal, they coast, but if you pedal forwards or backwards, they engage. Kind of like fixed, but with the option to coast for certain tricks.

If I remember right (getting old, I guess, things are getting hazy), Mike Buff and/or R.L. Osborne ran fixed freestyle bikes waaay back in the early 80's in some of their shows. Their gearing was close to 1:1 too. One of them had bars with 90 degree sweep too for doing boomerangs easier. Good stuff.

I think you are trying to describe a frecoaster, which just means you can coast forwards and backwards, but you can't like pedal and go backwards like a fixed gear.

And yeah there has always been flatland guys that run fixed, it's just a different flavor like guys that run no brakes and stuff.
