That's waht the associate at Cycles de Oro told me to do, but see, Cycles~ is an hour south from me, and Newmans, (shop who sold me bad equipment in the first place) is an hour north, so its a lot of worthless driving if i go up there with the sole intention of flipping out on them when the problem can be fixed by the shop I was already at

i bought a 700c wheelset from shop A. shop B told me that shop A sold me a 700c back and 27" front, and shop A was ******ed and dones't know anything about wheels, cause shop A thinks 700c = 27' when it clearly does not

You really won't notice too much of a difference when you ride. Where you will see the difference is in the tire choices.

so now you will have to stock 2 different sets of tires and tubes because you don't want to go exchange what they screwed up? Go and either have them replace the 27 for the proper wheel or get your money back and buy the complete set from the shop that knows what they're doing. Don't let them get away with this crap and make sure they make up for the drive up there to fix their stupid mistake!

I know, thats waht the good shop told me to do. they said in the future I won't want to be buying mismatched wheels/ tires, but i won't notice a difference in it. I would drive up there to get it switched but it would be just so much work for something that seems would't quite be worth it.

oh and by the way, this is the second major error the shop made. remember the thread i made about the back wheel not fitting my frame? some of you may remember. Anyway, they GARAUNTEED that the wheelset WOULD FIT my frame, and when I go to put the wheel on at my house, it doesnt, and I needed (did this yesterday morning after class) to take the back wheel + my bike up to the shop and they did some axle work and made it fit, but charged me for labor that they shouldn't have had to do in the first place...
my advice in trying to build a ss conversion: choose one shop to help you through it, and make sure it's a good one. |
I am sorry I have to say it, are you that f**king stupid?! I call troll, but if not pick up a new hobbie like chess or something. I was putting together and taking apart bikes at 10 years old. Sorry to be so mean and blunt about it but damn.

Na dude it isn't like that at all, I have no problem picking out parts and building the bikes AT ALL.. but the people sell me the wrong stuff is the problem. They sold me a wheelset saying it was 700c, but it was actually a700c and 27'

Yes, verify those sizes before you buy them. What is the size difference between 700c and 27" isn't it minimal, is it hard to tell just by visual comparison?

Your threads make my head hurt. I would recommend you buy a Kilo and be done with it already. You would have probably saved alot of time and money already.

yeah i agree completley, at this point i really wish thats what I had done. and yes, the bike shop has fixed all the problems the other shop created for me, and the size difference between a 700c and a 27" is VERY minimal, so much so that I was able to squeeze a 700c tire onto a 27" wheel, so don't tell me its my fault i didnt see the difference. |
It is your fault that you're too lazy to go get your ***** straightened out + have 2 same-sized wheels.

It's scary how some people don't know the difference from a 27'' and 700c wheel. I was in REI several weeks ago and a kid with a track bike was asking the sales rep if a 700C would fit his 27'' wheel. Sadly, the guy told him he wasnt sure, and could not reccomend the right tire for safety reasons.
I chuckled. |
I have a feeling that the dude just bought the rear wheel and now he's trying to blame the tire debaucle on the shop.
Dude just needs to go to an LBS that he can trust, rather than having a bunch of internet idiots try and help him from halfway across the universe. |

and update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the lbs i was telling you how great it was, the one who was fixing evyerhting for me, the main guy doing the work is going to take my 27" wheel and give me a 700c wheel from his own personal bike stuff collection. <3333333 so now i will have matching wheels :) |
