the lbs i was telling you how great it was, the one who was fixing evyerhting for me, the main guy doing the work is going to take my 27" wheel and give me a 700c wheel from his own personal bike stuff collection.

Make sure the wheel he gives you is of equal value. And I'm guessing he's gonna give you a used wheel so don't get hustled.

You need attention from a mental health professional. Soon. Don't wait until it's too late.

kassebaum 11-19-08 08:55 PM

I'm sure the wheel hes going to give me is going to be bad ass.

planyourfate 11-20-08 07:22 AM

The weight difference alone should have been a clue to the difference in size. I advise you to follow out what I'm going to say next...Go to the first bike shop, raise hell, get the right wheelset, demand that they do it, compare the hubs rims and weight to be sure you are getting a wheelSET. Bring your bike along with you to check fitting while at the store, install the wheels in the parking lot if you have to. Then take it home and call the second shop and tell about the wheelset that you purchased and varify that you got a matching set.

If you let a shop get away with hasseling you and taking your money for ****ty products then you need to rectify it immediately and let them know of thier mistake. Its the same if you bought a lemon from a car dealer, or got ****ty merchandise from wal-mart. Please don't just be a tool and allow them to take advantage of you.

This explains sooooo much! Good luck on your first ride, don't get killed . . .remember those metal dragons are real so carry your sword and healing potions! :D

andrewro 11-20-08 08:52 AM

Return everything, then start over at the shop where the girl flirts with you. Get all your stuff there.

walking disease 11-20-08 08:59 AM

how old are you kasse?

kassebaum 11-20-08 11:44 AM

I'm 20 but I have everything figured out now and I'm going to stop plaguing this forum with ridiculous posts.

Lol yeah I'll make sure to bring enough backpacks of mana potions and sudden death runes....

crushkilldstroy 11-20-08 11:48 AM

So tell us again why you aren't returning the non matching wheelset. If that actually happened, then they ripped you off and you should be getting what you paid for.

kassebaum 11-20-08 11:51 AM

Because it would have been a 2 hour drive and I would be canceling what the good shop has already done by giving me a 700c wheel for my 27" wheel. When I get the bike back today I'll post pictures and tell you what kind of wheel they gave me (I can assure you the wheel I had originally was generic and not high quality, it cost 35$ for the front one)

crushkilldstroy 11-20-08 11:54 AM

That's exactly my point. Have you at least called the other shop to tell them that they ****ed you over? If you let them get away with it, you're essentially giving them your money.

kassebaum 11-20-08 11:56 AM

Yeah I did call them right after the good shop called me. I asked to speak to the manager, told him how incompitant him and his shop is (this was their 2nd huge mistake they made with me) and that I wouldn't be coming back there any more. He told me 27" and 700c is the same size, and I told him there was an 8mm difference and the inside of the 700c wheel says "122x15" and the inside of the 27" wheel says "130x18" which CLEARLY means theres a size difference, and and he said there shouldn't be a problem, and neither of us mentioned replacing the wheel (he didn't offer to) I just told him about the good shop helping me through all of these problems. He didn't seem upset at all when the conversation was over because he thinks he and his shop didn't do anything wrong.

+1, there are times when the tires just not going on, it my be a reject tire, Ive gotten my share of them and I just exchange it for another tire and that usually does it :thumb: I try it once, then twice, but never more than that, take it back, get a new one, if that doesnt work try another name brand.

You know, this is either bull**** or you're buying wheelsets from Target.

kassebaum 11-20-08 12:04 PM

Na I swear to God. This shop is the shop. Newmans Bicycles in Danville, VA.

planyourfate 11-20-08 12:07 PM

I am done with this. Throw your money away if you want, but I tend to like to hold business owners accountable when the **** me over or **** with my money. I mean if you want to let them get away with taking your money that's one thing but I personally would have driven the two hours and gotten what I paid for or at least the money I spent and then told them that I wouldn't be returning to do business with them again and that I would recommend against anyone else doing so.

kassebaum 11-20-08 12:10 PM

I considered it, and I wanted to, but if the wheel I'm getting is better than the wheel I had to begin with (the 27" from the bad shop) then I'm coming out better. And how am I throwing money away? If he exchanges products, the 27" for a 700c, then its the same monetary value. I'm not losing or gaining any money here. But if I get a new wheel from the good shop, then I have a chance of getting a better wheel, which is gaining.

Come on you got to stay positive with me :D

walking disease 11-20-08 12:12 PM

I understood you didn't believe him. The facepalm is to the manager of the bike shop who says that.

If you get a better wheel than what yours is worth then you're ****ing over the "good shop." And regardless of what you end up with, after all is said and done the "bad shop" got your money for giving you the wrong product. And unless you do something about it they're going to get away with it. It's not even about the money, it's the principle. They need to own up to their mistake and fix it.

kassebaum 11-20-08 12:14 PM

Oh word preciate it. So is this thread on my side now or what?

kassebaum 11-20-08 12:22 PM

Like I said man the good shop already set me straight with a new wheel. It's too late now.
