i feel bad...cause dude seems nice but his bike has been ripped apart on here before.
he just needs to hire a marketing company and sell it at a big box retailer then retire in the bahamas

I found an old coaster-brake wheel in the garbage and thought about building a 700c wheel around it and running it on an old road bike frame but I never got around to it. I think it would be a great idea for a winter bike, provided you get a good gear ratio sorted out. I still might do it one of these days...

Yeah he got ripped before but it doesn't strike me as a particularly bad idea. There's alot of people in this city riding track bikes brakeless who go too ****ing slow because they can't stop or ride. A bike like this would be ideal for someone like that who wants "the look" but isn't planning on riding incredibly fast in traffic. It's got a low price point too, I hope the guy does alright with it.

I think he needs to sell this to all those hipster folk who want the Tarck look, but still wanna coast..
Realistically, I reckon he'd make more money just selling the hubs!
Also, anyone notice how much editing goes on in it? Half his sentences were cut in and out from multiple takes! Hire an actor if you have to! Jeesh!

I love my coaster brake steamroller and still think that guy's an idiot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FglKtM8hnIo this video sells the idea of coaster brake bikes infinitely better.

On cruiser bikes you can kind of get away with just the coaster brake becase who the hell gets up to any sort of decent speed on a cruiser? On a SS road bike you're just asking for a world of hurt.

Thanks.
I don't mind the idea of using a coaster hub as they do have the advantage of being pretty impervious to weather and are very reliable but they are also heavy and a rear brake can only provide half the stopping power of a front brake.
This is not a good thing in an urban hell where being able to stop hard and fast can save your ass and I have retrofitted a lot of old coaster bikes with front brakes at our shop to the delight of their owners.
My old CCM runs an English Perry hub which is really a speed attenuator and it does not have the same stopping power as a Shimano or North American style coaster brake... but it is pretty.

I originally had a CCM hub on the bike that had some pretty great stopping power but that still wasn't good enough to keep me from broadsiding a car that pulled out of a blind alley and cut me off.
When I replaced the fork (the original was ruined) I added the front brake and now the bike stops on a dime and gives back five cents in change.

I hope he learns to cover his own ass and and stops selling caliper brakes as optional "extras" because they don't fit in with his concept.
