Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

For Hanukkah, my parents got me some specialized mtb shoes, shimano spd's, a helmet and some socks. Dunno what (if anything) my girlfriend got me, but I got her a crank and a space monkey from the NASA gift shop.

I got new Gucci glasses (prescription), some shirts, suede moccasins, a bottle of Captain Morgan, and a bunch of gift cards for gas/food/electronics.

Gifts to myself: blowing $500 at the Casino, MKS GR-9 pedals with Power Grips, some extra bar tape, and a floor pump.

I got my first fixed:

converted Raleigh Capri with Weinmann LP18 rims and a flip flop hub. Not too sure on the specifics off hand, and I don't have pics because roadrunner hosed my hosting and I can't get a simple FTP back. It looks just dorky enough for me

I never understood how someone can just say "I have xx amount of money to blow at a casino" especially when everyone knows that the house always has the upper hand and more than likely you will lose that money. I would say "good luck" but there's no such thing, "hope the mathematical probabilities are favorable towards you" is more accurate.

it was going very, very well for a while, but "it was a sure thing," are the famous last words. lesson learned!

HAHA yeah, My friends hated my sense of humor when we went to Vegas last year where I gambled all of $20! All of it was on penny slots to get the free drinks though.
