Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My new conversion. Love it, and cannot wait to do a sick ride in morning.

yeah dawg. I cannot wait to ride in morning, I have only been out twice, and they were super fun, skidding on snow with ice is easy, but super fun.

Got a Bodum french press and a bunch of GCs for MEC and my fav LBS. Looking at a set of clipless pedals for the Angus and some better winter gear. Couldn't be happier.

I use one every morning. Best coffee ever. Use filtered water.

Filtered water, gotcha. Any recommendations on a grinder? With the drip machine I just got pre-ground, but I know you need a coarser grind for a press so I'm finally going to start buying whole beans like I should have been doing all this time.

I just get whole beans and grind for 10-12 seconds in an inexpensive whirling blade grinder. You need the grinds coarser than drip prepped. I don't think the grinder matters as much unless you are using an espresso machine (my other morning vice.)

Well, my girlfriend will be happy to hear that. We're running out of counter space and I'm too much of a gadget junkie. I'll probably just get a cheap-o hand-held grinder, and if I ever drop the hammer on an espresso machine, I'll upgrade the grinder as well. Thanks!
