Very hard to shot pictures of Sparkle and flake paints
plus min qty is required for paint order

I am ordering for new Stripper frame and bike [Kilo TT without decals]
NUDE [raw steel clear coated], Black Magic, white splash, GoldDigger, Red Lite, and Blue Star

I did try to make a video of the Black Magic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEQh-1cL59Q

This black magic is really fun and strange in sun - giant flakes turn blue, silver, and gold depending on now the sun hits them. The other metalFlakes I am using [gold, white, red, blue] are a bit less crazy

RAW and Flake framesets and bikes due in early august

Next project FADES; but hundreds of colors, dozens of fade patterns
top to bottom
frt to back
angled
etc

ideas on fades always welcome

Thanks
That is what I think

Notice: when looking at video use 'stop' button a lot to catch different effects
the flakes turning Blue, Gold, and Silver is really nice I think

Hmm... wonder how the raw steel would respond to some "gun blue" ...

( the stuff that comes in a can @ your local gun shop. : o ) )

I've wondered the same thing. The stuff is super ****ing toxic though. You wipe it clean of course but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it being on my bike.

Thanks for listening to our requests! I think you'll find that the flakes will definitely sell, especially in black, white and candy colors (the blue and purple you've been selling lately).

Have you considered redesigning the decals, making them smaller.

I asked this over in C&V, consensus is that it would not work

I agree. If the decals on the fork are removed, and the logo on the downtube is a bit smaller, this would be an awesome bike with the black magic paintjob. Would making the mercier logo cursive like the headbadge help out at all?

Yes
In that 'The Stripper' will have no decals except the Reynolds decal

And later after we do the bikes in Fades
I am thinking some bikes with Panels which would get small decals inside panels

I am also thinking of adding leather saddles and super pro level parts on some steel track models

All these alternatives take time to develop and even more time to get made

But they are fun to do and I think there is a market for lots of options
Right now I am really looking forward to SA 3-speed fixed gear sample - that should be really fun
And Team Track DuraAce sample also in the works

Lots of options out there and I am enjoying offering as many as we can

Black Magic will go first on a bike with no decals
and be available in frameset only also

FWIW, my build plan for a RAW TT includes Chocolate Brown Selle-Anatomica Saddle & Tape (haven't decide on drops vs Bullhorns or maybe moustachios...) and Sykes Ironwood Wooden Fenders... alternately I might go with some Woody's w/ matching chain guard... still deciding if the rest of it will be black bits or shiny silver bits.

Do you have link ? ( for those uf us at work, with limited time ... )

( I'm no iron-worker, but ) Unless its stainless steel, it *should* work ...

... & since people are recommending anodizing , can you do that to steel ? Isnt that on fancy alu. parts ? ( like carabeaners / paintball "markers", lightweight pullies or flywheels for engines, etc... )

that was prob the first think i noticed. the steer tube and seat tube logos look like theyre old, in a good way. like they come from tradition. the downtube logo looks like well, i dont wanna be rude. all in all, some cohesiveness would make a world of difference. cohesive with the traditional logo, that is, not the downtube logo.

all in all super excited to see all the new colors options.

i have read the thread thru and thru and im just too lazy to go looking so ill just ask, what is the expected release date for the flake and other new colors?

I know - sorry
We have lots of KILO TT booked for summer and there is a limit to how many the factory can build
{funny thing is I can get aluminum quicker - but high grade steel has longer lead time and takes more work}

Anyway, I am getting both complete bikes AND framesets in RAW and Flake Colors
And I think they should sail early July and be in early August
{but we do have other framesets and complete bikes in Kilo TT coming in every month from now till then}

Now that this is ordered I can start on Fades
may need samples on those that I can post and ask opinions on
