and why do they hate us? is it unjustified? IMO, and the opinion of many others, if there were no asshats like this many drivers wouldn't hate us.

I've been riding for 20 years and have had problems with drivers that entire time and yes, it's been unjustified. If you're mad at the guys in the video, I understand, but I don't appreciate your hostility

Hey people in cars hate each other! its called road rage. And i'm happy when i'm on my bike because i'm free and i don't give a f__k what somebody trapped in a car feels. They can't sit there, honk, and hate... who cares.

Listen bro, drivers don't give a **** if you're running a red light or not, they just see you on a bike and know what's up. In fact you'll get more respect when you are assertive on the road and don't hug the curb like a ***** all the time. And it's not like i give a **** what some cager thinks when i'm out riding.

ah, yea, i've ridden a bicycle, I have been for over 25 years now. I just don't ride like a dick. Who are you to try to justify how these asses ride?

So I should just take the lane my entire ride next time I am out. I am sure the people in cars will love that

why do you care? if you want to hug the shoulder and signal when you turn, go ahead, no one is stopping you.

this is like having a thread complaining about how cabbies drive. stay off the ss/fixed thread if you don't have anything useful to say.

admin can we delete this thread?

In Texas the law says if there is no bike lane a cyclist may occupy the entire lane. Does it matter if cars like it? You seem to be concerned with the law, running reds and stop signs and such, yet you probably have no idea what your local laws regarding cyclists are...I don't get what you are getting so hacked off about, do what you like and what makes you feel safe and let others do the same. You're not suffering for their indiscretions, you're suffering the effects of a society that is not accepting of cyclists simply because they move slower than automobiles and yet are forced to occupy the same space.

If you're keeping up with traffic / going the same speed or faster than cars, then why not? I don't know about your state but it's perfectly legal in mine and many times necessary to do this. Do you enjoy riding in the dooring zone when the bike lane ends? I don't.

yahnming 02-08-09 05:30 PM

you actually should take the entire lane when you're riding. it's safer for everyone involved. in most communities bicycles are considered vehicles and it's completely within your rights on the road.

Someone says something you don't agree with and you want the thread deleted? Are you serious?

I would think riding safe and in a way that doesn't piss off drivers is very usefull. I could be wrong though I guess.
