Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Pedal recommendations

Given that the stock plastic pedals are my bike's weakest link, I'm looking for some quality replacements. I want to keep using clips and straps, and I'm a pretty heavy dude so something durable would be a plus. Size 13 feet, if that has any bearing on a recommendation, I guess it means don't recommend anything that works best for people with small feet.

And here's the special part: In a little nod to vanity, I'd like something that comes in black if possible. Anodized, powdercoated, doesn't matter how, I just really like the look of the black pedals with my bike so I want to keep that while upgrading to a better quality part.

MKS Sylvans in black
Some double straps (the cheapest I've found are Dimension double straps, 15$ from LBS)
Large Toe Cages

Well he said something durable so I just said double straps since they are stronger and more comfortable than single straps
But a nice pair of single straps will do

Yikes. Milwaukee Bikes does have the Sylvans for $10 less. They sell the clips for the same price. Where do you go for half?
