One thing I've noticed about my new beanroller vs the creamroller I had, is that the handlebar shape was bigger on the cream bike. The drops feel kind of chintzy on this maroon one, and not as comfortable...

Never had TT bars before, but I'm seriously tempted by those RB-021s... and love that wrap job.

funny... there was a thread from a bit ago I found while searching RB-021 info, where Carleton says essentially that.
Lots of bars look sexy, but they can be hard to love.

I'm going to be ordering a Steamroller frame and having my shop put it together. The main reason I want this frame is that it accepts big tires. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for parts? Everythings from the headset to the wheel set. Id like to run fairly big tires, but not too much tread on them as ill be riding mostly streets....just want big cushy tires. Also if it helps I ride 365 days a year rain or shine, so I need durable stuff that can also handle getting wet. I will be running 46/18 also.

Plus, you'll get as many answers as there are opinions (I know it would only confuse me more)... I'd go to the surlybikes.com site, look at the complete build, get the specs for the stock components, and start whittling down your choices from there.

just thought I'd toss up a pic of mine, before I do anything drastic or crash it or lose it to a thief. Still need to cut the steerer, but I think I have it where I want it.

Here's mine. I'm not done yet. I need to put a matching rim up front! Also, I want to replace the stem and get something with less of an angle.

looks like you could just flip the stem and it'll be parallel to the top tube, no?

The Brooks B17 and my seat post aren't really made to ride that low on my bike, more for upright sitting. The stem angle is pretty steep and it's not very comfortable down that low. I'm just too lazy to buy a new stem. haha

For a bit of fun, here's my Steamroller in scorcher mode:
Rusty old cruiser bars I found on the street inverted
It's actually ridiculously fun off road... I'm surprised at the stuff I can clear on it
Geared at 44x19

Hey @RichPugh were you just trying to sell your steam roller on craigslist a little while ago in the baltimore area?
