I'm living at a popular place for international students on Chestnut street in Penn's campus (google it) and it's about $600 a month for a tiny studio. Unfortunately apartment complex apartments aren't cheap. You'd have good luck with houses in Powelton Village or around Clark Park though.

Powelton Village is ok if you enjoy frat **** causing a ruckus when the weather gets nice. Having roomates definitely helps the pockets out, if you don't mind living with other people. Privacy will cost you!

Woah, I can afford that! Wish I were an international Penn student. Do you know anything about the graduate housing there? Going for Architecture in the Fall...

why don't you just say the i-house?
why be all pretentious and tell people to google it?
it's called the international house and its around 34th and chestnut and they have a pretty nice movie theater and some sweet obscure shows there once in a while.
and wtf are you doing there?

I'm not being pretentious, I'm just not saying exactly where I live. Why don't you post your address?
I'm living there because rent is reasonable and I don't sign a lease. Just rent out for 4 months at a time. Plus, no roommates.

Just because it's "international" doesn't mean only international students can live there.

Take a chill pill. I'll invite you over when I move it. We can party on my floor.

No one else really knows what IHouse is anyway, unless they're into the films and music. PS everything's free for me!

yeah, there are tons of places for cheaper than that. look in Fishtown/East Kenzo/Port Richmond for good deals, look in the 19122 and 19123 zips, or in South Philly (around Washington Ave, Morris, Dickinson, etc. from maybe between 7th to 20th). you should be able to find something nice for not too much.

You're right, because I'm not a Penn student.

west philadelphia is a section of the city, like north philadelphia or south philadelphia, etc.

university city is a neighborhood in the west philadelphia section. west philadelphia is schuylkill to city line.

i don't know of a single street in phila that isn't in both a section and a neighborhood...
