Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

The wheels are heavy. CAPO is pretty much the jam for a short commuter/FG. Cannondale road geometry is already track like. Plus the aluminum is weatherproof, light and very fast. Had to swap out the BB though.

Alpha?
The bent tubes are weird, makes the frame look weak. Why not just make them straight?

How do people prop their bikes on the toe clip like that?
This always baffles me. Was there something else holding up the bike and then it was shopped out?

My first SS. I needed a beater to get around that was easy to keep clean so I converted an old Raleigh. Needs fenders and a rear brake and it's good to go. Might throw a rear rack on it, too.

Ha!
I thought the first comment about the bar was about the handlebars.

Thanks.
Best part, bookcase from goodwill = $8. Although it's not the sturdiest, it works.

the front wheel is laced 3 leading 3 trailing it is very easy and when done right it looks really nice

You are just figuring this out? Patricky rides a yellow NJS frame (I forgot the builder). I think if that Pake was in East Sac we all would have seen it.
