Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I would love this a thousand times more if you had some track drops on there. Oh, and if you re-sized your images a bit....

My first fixed gear! The local bike coop has a program where you bring in a frame and they teach you how to build up the bike—I just finished on Wednesday. Only ridden it a few times, but it's a lot of fun. Looks a little funny due to distortion from wide angle lens. Saddle isn't particularly comfortable, but I had it lying around. New saddle and some clip in peddles are first on the upgrade list.

didn't you notice? it's so much better

dura ace chainring on a campy super record road double crank (that for no reason had the inner tab for the second ring ground off) on a ross conversion

Hey Balefire, nice trick with the chainrings, reversed to keep the large ring in line with the rear cog.
get some single crank bolts whilst you're shopping

The internet taught you how to hate on a guy's bike even though it looks and probably rides great? Ugh.

to me, it's a poor man's surly cross check without the forward facing dropouts and derailleur hanger.
this bike was inspired by fellow member Gyeswho, but no where near as awesome as his cross check. in the future, i will have FAT tires on this bike.

wish I could remember where I saw a pic posted with the same ring set up and a chain wrapping the smaller, now outside ring.

but yes, if your bb is old school, pull it, clean it, flip the axle and repack it. that may give you a straighter chainline and allow you to have your big ring on the outside where it belongs.

Except for that color scheme that langster is really nicely set up. Road hoods, ergo bars and clipless
