Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? well the IRO/Andel/Alien/etc are all made in the same factory (I think), so you're going to get a similar product with all of those. The SRAM is its own thing, as far as I know, but has gotten good reviews and has a good price w/ BB. Pake works well for me. Other than that, there's not too many other options...

Yes, me too!! How dare someone consider buying cheaper bicycle parts in order to feed themselves and pay rent!! In this economy, it is definitely practical to spend a ton of money on bicycles

I like my RDs. The chainline is off by so little that it's not noticeable. You can also bring it 1mm closer by getting the Miche 102mm BB instead of the Sugino 103mm. I also ride Pake's sometimes when I ride my girlfriend's conversion, and they feel fine.

I'm very happy with my speedwheel crank and ring. Was about $50 with a 46 ring. Much nicer than my rpm which I find has more flex.

I stand corrected! The SRAM does look like that Bontrager crank and that Truvativ a lot...so I guess those 3 can be coupled together the way the Andel/Alien/IRO crank are...hmm

Yeah, i mean, wtf kind of thing is that to say? I hate people who can't afford ridiculously nice bike parts? Geez!

i have some bontrager GXP cranks with BB i could trade or sell you. they are road cranks but you would need your 4x chainring. it is like black chrome colored even more shinin than just black.

The sram courier and the bontrager cranks are the same cranks, they use external bb. The touro comes in either square taper or splined bb, i haven't seen it in an external bb version. If it did, i'm sure it would just be a rebranded sram/bontrager.

oh well right now it has 53/39 rings on so you would need the right size chainring you want. and it's 130 5 bolts

Wait, two posts ago you didn't want a double crank, and now you're considering an offer for double cranks? WTF?

i guess theres a chance that i could be wrong, but i dont think these are double cranks. they are just the arms. pretty sure these are what he was offering me. havent seen the pics yet tho.
