Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I would rather have a Leader!!

Check out this new frame they are making. This is very different from other things that I have seen by them and it actually looks really nice...what do you guys think? Would you trust this frame over a bareknuckle or something like that?

$700? Yeah right.

For that money, I'd get a Bareknuckle.

Bikes: yes

Trust? What's trust got to do with it?

The sizing on these bikes is silly. Their smallest size has a 546mm top tube?

well....trust that this bike is as legit as Leader makes it out to be. The way they describe it is that it could compete with some of the nicer FG frames out there (bareknuckle)

Also, this is the first time I have seen it so I thought it was new. Anyone ridden it?

Isn't it odd that they still can't state what type of steel is being used?

The BK has a lot of great reviews. What does this frame have as far as real first person reviews?

I prefer the BK 1 1/8 threadless to the 1 " of the leader.

do you think it looks too much like a ghost bike? I woudn't wanna sink that much cash into a ghost bike...also kinda sucks that the fork isn't drilled for brake...makes me lean towards toyo godzilla or something like that b/c I definitely like having a front brake...

i think the white background is contributing to the ghost factor. i like it a lot. you can get one of those clamp on style brakes for it too.

pretty but a track bike not drilled for brakes looks off where there is so much space between the 23 c tires and the fork and the rear brake bridge but then again I am nitpicking...

that frame sucks - overpriced, unknown tubing...and leader as a company seems rather incompetent.

there are many other frames for the same price point or less that would
blow it out of the water in terms of quality.

$700 for that frame? ha - yeah right.

and all white emo bikes...this is 2009, not 2006 dudes.

what does all white have to do with what year it is? Geez...why do fixed gear people have to relate everything to being a trend? If an all white bike is pretty, it would have been pretty in 2006 and it will be pretty in 2020. They were making all white bikes long before 2006 and they will continue to make them far into the future...It kills me to see something like beautiful bikes be tainted by trends. I don't know about you, but I care more about whether or not I think my bike is pretty than whether or not it's considered "in" or "trendy"

When I read your post I imagined you saying that with a valley girl accent haha

right...cause bikes are capable of having emotions...and I'm not buying it b/c I don't have that kind of money, just thought it was interesting. I do, however, think it is really really pretty. But that is very wise of you to judge something so international, like bicycles, as relating to an American HIGH SCHOOL trend. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what frame builders everywhere think about when designing top-notch frames: Is this emo, goth, or punk??

if you look in the web address it says reynolds steel. maybe no one noticed that but as a company that sells cheaper (in price) aluminum frames i think they would price a steel frame accordingly as well.
edit after reading this haha that the price would go with the quality of the tubing.

yeah, I think it is probably a good deal. It's a tad sketch that they don't give specific info on tubing, though. But I can't find anything else wrong w/ the bike other than it not being drilled for front brake (which on a bike of that caliber isn't uncommon)

just because something is white never makes it emo...my bike is white and red does that make it extra emo because of blood red?
