Can you tell us what the font used on the words "Kilo WT" is. I want to have my local vinyl shop cut me a matching "F". :)
I was going to call it WideTireFriendly [WTF] - but I got talked out of it |
Yeah I would want one in mink blue for sure.

But WHY use the Klio Name? Call t something else as not longer a Track frame.

July/Aug? Damnit!

I've read over this thread twice, but I have two important questions:
1. Price? Still in the $300-400 range of other SS's? 2. Weight? Apologies if this was mentioned and I missed it. I'll understand if the answer is given in a range. As for colors, I'd buy whatever color is decal-free; color preference: gunmetal, (commuter) yellow or light blue. I'm on your mailing list, eagerly awaiting pre-order. |
I thought it meant Kilo Watt. I like WTF better.

looks good. as for colors, i think classic urban colors (eg, black, brown, tan, etc) would be appropriate but with metallic flakes.

just curious what is the size of the pictured bike?

This bike is coming 50c, 53c, 56c, 59c, 62c - I think [C-T] I think I will get drawing on the frame posted as I think people would like to see that Really nice frame - I am very happy with this bike |
So I've been riding the Kilo WT shown at the beginning of this thread for about a month now and wanted to make some notes on it. Keep in mind this is my first track bike (been strictly casual MTB until now) and I'm not nearly as tech-ish and into bikes as you guys - I just like to ride and am learning more and more as I go.
PROS It's really damn light. It's really fast. It's got nice parts/components: - 53c (Center to center), or 56c (C-T) - Frame is full 4130 with Reynolds 520 main tubes - Tektro Brakes R556 - Precision Sealed Hubs with Deep V Rims - Sugino crank CONS Mad toe overlap. Now that I have a track bike with wide tires, I kinda don't want 'em. It doesn't feel as responsive as I'd hoped, as compared to riding my friends' Hours. The frame seems a little small for me, I kinda wish I could scoot the seat back just an inch or so more. Ugly logos, which I covered with white tape for now. I hate the toe clips, need metal ones with sturdier straps. Not much else. All said and done, I think I want to go ahead and get a regular Kilo TT frame and some smaller tires to put on these deep v's. Maybe. I don't know... The 'feel' of this bike just isn't right to me, just doesn't feel as smooth and nimble as when I ride my friends' Hours. Dunno, got some thinking to do. Don't even know what I'd sell this WT for.... |
|
oh damn that sloping crown is hot. make the regular kilo sloping crown, because its hot
|
what is the axle to crown on the wt fork?
|
How did you get it? Its not listed on the BD site.
|
I like it. I have a TT Pro. First thing I did was buy a pair of regular brake levers and put them on another set of bars -- Looks like the WT. But, I will increase tire size when the stock tires wear out, so if the WT was available, I likely would have bought it since I could go 28 mm + fenders.
I have no issue with calipers for the purpose I think they are simpler to deal with, though I'd never tour with them; but that's a different issue. |

I'm considering selling the frame to buy a regular TT frame, so if anyone wants to make any offers, send me a pm. |

And some bikes - like new Mercier Stripper - will get no decals - basicly a Kilo TT with small spec changes, special paint, and no markings Looking very forward to seeing this, Mike. Just as I was about to order a Gold KiloTT, I read all this stuff about these new models coming out! How long before we can see them and I can finally make a decision? |

Oh adraino, you bumbling little fool. Your sh*theadedness truly astounds me. Before quoting my post (which means you must have read it), did you not read my quote taken directly from Mike's post? He was talking about a few other Kilos as well. Go back and read it again. It's right up there above your post, smiling at you.
Here's another example from this very thread, champ:

There are so many types of bikes and features - it is hard to hit them all...
this Kilo WT, a Kilo OS, Stripper, and Kilo S3X I'm curious not so much about the WT, but the Stripper, as I noted by quoting another of Mike's posts in the first place. Now...perhaps you should be a little more familiar with the subject at hand before you rush in and begin typing away. Unless of course, you enjoy the attention. |
hes shown pictures of the sample.
