Guys, these are the very reasons WHY I asked the question. 1) It appeared to be the same tire, though at a different angle that made it look like there was no remaining clearance past the original 32, if it was a 32. and 2) 700x52 is stupid big for a bike like this.
Anyhow, back to the bike. Yeah, 38C are plenty big. My frustration with me Trek Soho S is that my 700x35 pert-near rub, and are crazy hard to get through the brakes (though I may swap brakes). Frames only are definitely a good option. I know that's what I'd be looking at (of course, I'm still waiting on a TT Raw). The inferno red on this sound good. BD / Mike - on fender clearance, do you think a 45 or 52 fender would squeeze in there (given the clearance)? http://www.velo-orange.com/fenders.html I took a couple of pictures a little dark - but should show room I think a 45 fender will fit - maybe even 52 I am going to start posting actual frame drawings on sites that should help http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...r/DSC04649.jpg |

I wish some of you guys would read the posts before you ask the same questions all over again
The tires in the pictures are 32s and he's looking at pricing the bike at $449 or $429 New question however, could we get a pic of the left side of the bike? I want to see how the rear cable is mounted. Thanks your wish is my command http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...r/DSC04652.jpg |

I think that as a utilitarian bike, colors like black, white, brown should be options.

i, for one, am glad that this bike has calipers and not canti brakes...its more of a road bike, and by the looks of those brakes, the frame and fork will limit your tire sized before the brake will. canti brakes are good for cross bikes and off road...which is why there is a fantom cross uno (which i have and love) but i want a fat tired road bike, and this one is calling my name

Great looking Bike! I've been thinking about getting a steamroller, but I'll wait a little longer.
Thanks BD... |

Thanks I just wanted to see if there were cable mounts for the rear brake, I'm sold! :thumb: |
Any chance you have a picture of the metalic green? If it's anything like the old school 'British racing green', neither hell nor high water nor rent will stop you from getting my hard earned money.
+1 on long reach callipers, not cantis. Nothing wrong with cantilever brakes, but this is a road bike that can take wider tires, so it's perfectly acceptable if it can't fit a big apple. Not every bike needs to. |
A toned down blue, like the "Mink Blue" on old Raleighs, would look good on this bike. I'd also vote for a deep green. Either color would work well with a metallic fleck. I really don't think a fade would look so great, as this frame seems more suited to townie or commuter builds where classic and simple color schemes seem to work a lot better.

I just know this will get shot down, but how'bout cable guides for an IGH like the S3X?
Bikes Direct, this bike looks like a winner to me as an entry level bike.:thumb: Now if you'd only change that website design. So last century. :( |
Wish it looked more like a 09 Raleigh One Way and I'd definitely buy one.

+1 on earth tones, goes with the utility-ish idea.

Not every bike needs to. No pictures of Red or Green yet I will have them posted as soon as they come in [most colors I order off paint clips in books] |

I loved that Mint Blue from old Raleigh Pros and maybe I can find something close Maybe you are correct on fades, might not be good on this style bike better for racing bikes I guess [although I like fades] |

some earth tones are popular in matt finish But I would see this type frame more in gloss, metailic, or pearl |

Coming late to the discussion:
I would really love a commuter friendly color scheme: lime green or orange with reflective qualities - so the bike would be very visible both during the day and at night........... |

also, Bikesdirect, 1 question and one comment. Comment: http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/thehour.htm there is a spelling error. Should read "Can you beat Eddy's distance?" That one was bothering me for a while Question: When is there going to be update on the Motobecane Pro Track? I'm really excited for it! Keep up the awesome work, when you know what the people want, you know what will sell well! |
