Giant Bowery small vs. medium size?

I am 5'5'' with an inseam in the range of 29''-31''.

I was looking at the Geometry of the bowery and it says the standover height of the medium is 30.0'' whereas the small is 29.3''. the biggest difference is height is the bar that support the frame in the center where the small is 46.5cm and the medium is 50.0cm.

Anyway, i found a great deal on a used Bowery that is the medium sizing. Do you think I would be able to ride it?

The shop I work at is a Giant dealer. It's too big for you.

You'd be able to sit on the bike but that will be about it. 30" is the standover, not the seat tube length. The bike's top tube is going to be too long for you and you're going to look like a fool (maybe that is what you want).

I repeat, it is too big for you.

You might also consider actually measuring your inseam rather than going off of your pant size.

I just stand by a wall, slide a book up your crotch (sounds gross, I know), mark the wall, then measure. I'm sure others have other/better methods.

Also, you should be more concerend about the top tube length. Easiest way to find out if it fits -- go test ride it.

yeah I already measured with the book method yesterday, i am 30.5''. I just found out the bike is a small, I think he was just confused with the measuring. He is 5'6''.. so the bike will be the right size for me.

Thank you for the help though!
