Seriously hit up fixedgeargallery.com and check it out, don't start a thread asking for people to give you info you can search for on your own. There is a thread up at the top with everyone's bike posted on there for pete's sake!

Bikes: See my sig...

I ride on everything from vintage steel Dunlop wheels to Vueltas to Sun Rhyno Lites.

My new wheelset for my road bike is going to use Mavic Open Pros and if I can find them for a decent price want to lace them to some Suntour Superbe track hubs.

That's one of those things you should just stop and think about for two seconds before asking

Too light to be made of steel, too heavy to be magnesium, too metallic to be carbon fiber.....

any modern rim that is metal (as opposed to carbon) is going to be aluminum, with the exception of the worst wal-mart has to offer

Whatever it is it's not balanced.

Video of my un balanced rim: https://www.flickr.com/photos/carleton_hall/3571376482/

On a similar note. The Suntour Superbe hubs are so smooth, so sensitive that only a couple of grams can send it swinging.

Technically, you cannot comment on the rim's distribution of mass unless you are only dealing with that mass. You also have spokes, nipples, hopefully spoke prep on the spoke threads, a hub, a tire, and a tube. You are demonstrating bad science.

I'm not a scientist. I just know at 35 MPH that sumb*tch moves around and it's not fun.

Mr. Wizard didn't teach me how to use any fancy scienty tools. We just learned with what we had laying around.

Check this: I left 3 of the magnets on while at the track today. You know what? No wobble.

They're made of unobtanium, although this one appears to have the measles:

Neat. You still cannot comment on the distribution of the mass of the rim.
