Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So far so good. The aerodynamic advantage is not as noticeable as a rear disc wheel though. The only thing that worries me is the fact that it's a tubular.

Dang, that is a nice looking Marin, I thought they were a company that made comfort bikes and hybrids. I guess the Marin brand here in Canada is different?

Aren't those things known to just snap in half? Or is that another 4-spoked wheel?

What did you pay for it?

I don't think that this wheel would catastrophically explode. It feels strong. My buddy found this wheel locally and lets just say that the seller was asking $200.

A partial shot of my road bike next to my brother's TT on a ride we took. Stopped at the top of this bridge and snapped a shot on the phone. My yellow ride is a Trek 420 that I bought last year. It's a fun bike. I'm going to swap in another lighter wheelset that my dad doesn't use anymore and give the bike a complete tune up. Also I'll be adding clipless pedals once I get the cash for the those and the shoes.....
