IRO Mark V for $400
I got offered a deal of $400 for a complete Mark V. Is this a good deal? It comes with stock IRO components and stock IRO wheels. THe only drawbacks is the Mark V frame is made of 4130, there are brazeons for running a rear brake, and the stock wheels are machined.
I mean compared to a Mercier Kilo TT which is $350, just paying $50 will get me a complete IRO. I think its a good deal.

Yes its new. And I can choose what size to get also. Its a deal this webstore is offering to get their store up and running.
So you think its a good deal?
Would I regret it later? I kind of hoped to get an Angus because it has Reynolds 631. But I understand that the difference between the steels' is very small. With the Angus being stiffer and lighter.

gah... i must be bored tonight with all this refreshing. i think it is a great deal. i wouldn't regret the purchase unless i wanted another bike more. angus or markv is up to you. if you like the 631, you could also consider the markv pro.

Ok I think I'm going to go for it. The webstore guy even said he'd build it up for me when it comes in, and adjust it to my specs when I come to pick it up. And in a month after i get some miles on it, i can come back for a free tune up. Yea I think its a pretty good deal.
And if worst comes to worst and I dont like, I'm sure I can just resell on CL.

Also I'm wondering what size I should get. I told him I was 5'11" with 32" inseam and I normally ride a 56cm bike. I have longish legs which means a shortish torso. He suggested a 59cm IRO when he went by the IRO manual.
I understand IROs have a longish toptube so I'm concerned the reach will be too far for me on a 59cm. What do you guys think? Does anyone have a link to the geometry of a Mark V?
And could you please reply ASAP because his deal ends Tuesday and I would like to finalize all this tonight.
Thanks!

I read this thread about IRO sizing: https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/450938-iro-mark-v-order.html
It seems most ppl my height went with 59cm. But some said they regretted it, and would have liked to try smaller. But im curious about this dude:
I'm close to his height. I'm actually 5'11.5" And that guys seems to not fit the 59cm. Either he has really long balls or he must have been wearing cycling shoes when he took that measurement. But now I'm worried that 59cm is tall for me. I do feel my 56cm road bike is somewhat cramped so maybe getting a size up is a good idea.
Anyhow I plan to run risers on it so any reach issues should be better with the risers.

5'11 1/2 w/ 32.5"-33" cycling inseam. I got a 59 Mark V and had to swap it for a 56 Mark V. With the 170mm crank I needed to have the seat pretty much all the way down to avoid having my leg completely extended and stretched on the down stroke and when standing my balls rested on the top tube in regular shoes. The 56 works much better for me.
