The wheels were true and the cog lockring was tight. I really don't like the pedals so I will change those out for clipless in the near future. All in all I am satisfied with the stripper
When you chopped the bars, were you able to salvage the tape?

And, I do have pretty short legs. Not like freakishly short, but short. At least that's what my mom told me after the kids chased me home from school making fun of my stumps. Now I can outrun the bullies on my badass bike.

Yes and no. I used a pipe cutter and just pealed down the tape but the cutter caught the tape in a couple of places. It is not real bad but it will do until I get the new bars.

I come bearing pics! (though not as fashionable as others)

PACKAGING FAIL- **** UPS, 3 days late and the packaging barely held

Tried to capture the sparkle in the sunshine here

Front wheel barely has clearance for me...

Here's my review of the stripper:
pros:
Super light (compared to my old roadie conversion)
powerful front brake
good looking paint and frame
awesome value

cons:
Super doofy gold parts. Why would I want a gold chain/pedals with any paint color?
pedals seem a little small
tires seem a little plasticy/cheap, but have worked fine
Had to cut the front brake line by 60% because it was way too long... a little strange.

All in all everything is awesome, great value for teh moniez. I will be replacing the gold chain and pedals ASAP, and adding a 17t fixed cog on the hub.

oh wow that box got battered. My box held up fine. However my front wheel needed to be trued out of the box. It wasn't really bad but not what you would expect from a new wheel.

That BlueStar is a gorgeous color!

I've been lurking and researching on the forums and here goes my first post

It appears bikesdirect restocked the Kilo Stripper in Black Magic TODAY and I just completed my order for one in 53cm. I'm super excited and the timing couldn't have been more perfect, considering school is starting and my car just went into the shop for some serious work.

I'll be sure to keep you guys updated on the bike and my experience with bikesdirect as it unfolds..

Cheers!

Those tires are actually holding up and not flatting on rough roads?

So is that white more like a glossy, pearly white? Or is it actually glittery like the other colors?

It's a glossy white, you can only really see the glitter in the sun and even then it's not super prominent. Perfectly done IMO. I bought some black pedals and a black chain today, gunna put that on and post some pics

Here's my raw stripper. Sorry I don't have a real camera, its my iPhone camera. So far it's doing fine for riding around the city, probably going to switch out the 16t cog and go with a 17t cog and then switch out the tires. The drops will do fine for now, but the pedals and chain may have to go too.

What size frame is that?
53cm. I'm about 5'11 with a 32-33inch stand over. It fits me pretty well.

Yous-guys can send me all those goofy gold chains ...
If you give me 5$ for shipping ill send you mine once I get it off

What are the specs on that stem? I like!
It's 110mm 83/97º. Brand is Dimension

eMXiMeR - you replaced the stem with essentially the same stem?
More or less. It's a little shorter and I believe the angle is a little greater, it definitely feels more comfortable to me. This was a spur of the moment purchase when I was at my LBS buying the black pedals and I saw the stem and thought "blak stem would be s0000 sexay!", so I bought it.
