People suck.
Was walking home from the library and saw a nice Jamis locked to a bike lock. The seat and handlebars were both gone and the brake cables had been cut. The front and back wheels both had a quick release but neither were gone (neither were locked though). People suck. I wish I could have been there to witness it, I'd have told him "don't steal bikes bro".

man that DOES suck!! i wonder why buildings cant just have a room inside for bikes to lock up. like a coat check stand but for bikes.
this is why i'll never completely rely on my bike to get me around esp when i have to lock up. when i do ride its just for exercise and on group rides i keep it close to me at all times. i cant afford to get jacked.

Well it's usually accompanied by a couple fauxay thai kicks to the face from an asian guy with a MASH tattoo.

I could totally have ridden that home, thank you very much.

I recently did that whole saddle locking get up with an old tube and length of chain. At my school there have been a few bike thefts recently and there's even a [now]abandoned cruiser at one of the racks with its rear derailleur undone and wheel taken.
