It's not the Obey infringement that concerns me. It's doing right by Sheldon's legacy.
2dois2b - thanks for the info.

Yeah...when I talk to the guys at Harris and if I do decide to sell them, they'll say 'RIDE'. I like that even better.

I'm down for one too. Also, you could use "Follow" instead of Obey or Ride but Ride works well enough.

Maybe I should have, but I really wasn't thinking this would be such a huge hit. I just wanted to wear one!
I plan on talking to the guys at Harris when I'm there this weekend and see if something can come of making a run of these and donating the proceeds in the name of one Mr. Sheldon Brown or helping to cover the cost of keeping sheldonbrown.com up and running. I think it's a damn good idea and judging by the feedback I've received here, I'd say a lot of you do too!
I'll keep you all posted.
I'm thinking that if I do end up offering these, they'll say RIDE in place of OBEY. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open.

hey just to give you guys the heads up on this
shephard fairey is a complete thief and plagiarist. asking HIM of all people for rights on things would be a joke, largely because nearly his entire body of work is plagiarized. and no, he didn't ask for rights from the artworks he plagiarized.
read this, it will change if you ever buy OBEY stuff again: (then again, most of you probably don't anyway)
https://www.art-for-a-change.com/Obey/index.htm
i would change the "OBEY" part of this shirt, just because the OBEY guy is a completely talentless do uchebag.

Yeah...one of the guys in my art dept. knows Shepard fairly well and that's the general consensus. I've never bought a piece of OBEY anything in my life.
What do you guys think of this?
I think it's an instant classic.
