'79 raleigh track

In light of the "almost finished romic" thread, I submit my '79 raleigh track for your critique-ization.

This bike is an "easy rider", I don't plan for it to see much commuting or hard duty. Hence the rear only brake to keep the front clean but still provide me with some additional brake force. I have a '76 fuji track w/ a front kierin brake for my weekly commuting.

Thing of beauty! is that a Brooks Swallow?

yea, a swallow. Ben's cycles had one for ~half price because they didn't have the original box for it. I didn't care about the box.

Bikes: 82 Bianchi ECO Pista, Pake, Kilo TT, some *** bmx i found underneath an old house

were some track frames made to take rear brakes for the sake of bleeding off speed instead of stopping power? I've seen this a few times lately with Austrailan frames.

It's not drilled for a rear brake - I put a kierin style rear brake on it - this one, which in this pic is on my fuji:

Nice ride! I have yet to see a vintage, lugged, track frame that isn't stunning. Love it!

I love these frames, especially the old school paintjob and beautiful lugs.

That is absolutely lovely. Those round fork blades are simply classic. As the long time owner of a '80 Team Pro road give yourself (and that bike) the joy of taking it out and riding it hard! I had mine out several weeks ago sprinting, climbing and bombing corners and had almost forgotten what a wonderful ride those bikes are.

Enjoy and congratulations!
