Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I hate track bikes

Thats it! Im getting a recumbent! Now thats what i call stylin' yo!

As if!

This thread is for bike snobbery of which I have been accused many a time. Im getting better, but i suppose im just a sucker for the classic steel feel.

Might see some of you in Montreal at the NACCC's!

ciao!

Sometimes sarcasm falls flat. Check out his homepage. He's no troll. Whether he's hiding a recumbent in his closet is another matter.

friend had a recumbent and i fooled around with it for 10 min, he lives on a super steep hill, so maybe that was part of the problem, but i found it super hard to ride. balance all off. they suck!

thats one of my favorites in terms of elegance. almost like a track bike. those ridiculously
long chains spoil it though. what i dont like about them is that you cant really use your
body for balance and quick moves like on a regular bike. no hopping or even lifting the front
wheel. you just sit there and play "engine". more like driving something than riding.

I was talking to a guy the other day who regularly pushed a 62x13 on his bent. that made me think about respecting them a little more.
