Chain ring question

Im in the process of converting an old peugeot to a fixie and I really dont want to buy an entirely new crankset. So I was wondering, and this is probably a beginner question, could I use a sugino chainring on my nervar cranks?

older chainrings without ramps and pins and stuff can be flipped around for extended life, theres the issue of the countersink for the bolts but I really can't imagine it could cause big problems, if your budget conscious.

OTOH I'm sure someone will come and tell me off about the countersinking not being a big deal, the world might explode who knows, I know its been discussed before.
