Flashlight mount for bike

I know this belongs in the "gadget and flashlight" forum, but no one is hardly on it, so my responses come real slow, that's why I've decide to consult my fellow fixie buddies

Ahem anyways, I'm just looking for a good flashlight mount to put on my nitto riser bars. If it helps any, my current flashlight is about 5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter.

I'd appreciate any advice given. Thanks.

You should search that forum because I distinctly remember a little number called by TWOFISH which does exactly that. I found in that forum a while ago, so it may be buried by now.

Anyways:

And a DIY:

I like the Knog lights. The drawback is that they do not provide a lot actual "seeing" light, but are more of a "be seen" light. If you're in a populated area that has street lights, then they work perfectly.

You can get them on ebay, bikeisland, etc.

Thanks guys! I've seen some of these mounts myself, but didn't see any reviews. Some of the mounts introduced to me seemed like they'd work, except they also seemed as if they'd move a lot during bumpy rides. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers.

Bikes: Too many bikes, too little time to ride

dealextreme used to have something like this: https://www.sourcingmap.com/bike-bicy...r-p-26312.html but free shipping. can't find it on the site anymore. but this mount works well, is simple, and pretty cheap. i've ridden on some bumpy streets and this one works as well as any other mount i've tried (no mount will be absolutely secure for bumpy roads or offroading, imo).

Yeeaahh it doesn't look like it'll hold my light in place. Some of rides are pretty bumpy or can get get bumpy, I don't wanna constantly have to adjust my light.

Oh and which part of the bay are you from?

Two fish lock block works great even on bumpy roads. Just cinch it up tight on your bars.

I've heard of people using the lance armstrong type "awareness of whatever your cause is" bracelets with success. Not really sure how bumper the OP roads are though.

I had that same problem, but wrapping a little duct tape around the bar, sticky side out, under where the flashlight mount goes fixed it.

+1

i've run a fenix/twofish setup for two years now with zero problems. so long as the twofish is strapped over bar tape and not metal it works like a dream.

and, best of all, it's easy to remove... not like other mounting systems that assume you want their bracket attached to your bars semi-permanently.

Try a rubber band made from a segment of inner tube. Works like a charm mounting my Deal Extreme flashlight to my bike in a sturdy, yet quickly removable way.

Rubber band method works fine. Two hose clamps work as good as anything, accept you need a screwdriver to remove it. Set them up like the two fish mount. One holds the flashlight and the other around the bars, making one clamp loop around the other. Costs about a dollar from any hardware or auto parts store.

Well it looks like I'll probably try out the cheap methods first. I ordered a silicone bandage for like 3 bucks, and while waiting on them, I think I'm gonna try out some of the rubber band, hose clamp, and bracelet methods. The twofish lock looks pretty legit, but 15 bucks for a mount seems a bit steep for a simple mount. They'll probably be next in line as my next option though if the advisers are pretty sure about them. Thanks again for your input guys.

Here's 3 for $12.95. I wouldn't pay $15.00 for 1 either. I also use one to mount my PBSF to my seat post for quick swapping between bikes.

This one has worked well for me. You can't beat the price.

I have this one, to hold a flashlight similar to yours in dimensions, a 1*18650 led light. It holds things nice and tight so the flashlight doesn't dip, even barrelling over cobbles or whatever. It would be perfect if the hardware was stainless instead of painted black regular steel, but as is it's pretty good and it only costs a few bucks.

Why not use ans old tube? I have the other Fenix attached to the handle bars in the same fashion. I've also dropped this helmet a few time right into the flashlight mount, nothing to break.
