I'm skeptical...but what's the harm if you send them a pair of shoes you won't ever wear again anyway? I guess you do have to pay for shipping...

I would do it, but I don't think I can get them postmarked by today, stupid work

They said get a half size smaller than what you wear in Vans.

I'm down for new turds as long as they are optimum turds.

I've seen this posted on quite a few blogs, Trackosaurus and Pedal Consumption amongst others. Pretty sure it's legit, although it is odd that's it's not mentioned anywhere on the Chrome site.

Everyone is cutting and pasting the same material. Why isn't this on Chrome's twitter feed? That is the usual venue de jour for announcing crazy hot deals.

Just imagine---- Chrome receives thousands of boxes of old stinky shoes--- and April 1st is not far away.

On the other hand, there is no message debunking this on the Chrome site--- so unless they are completely out of touch with the internet, they have to know the word is out.

this the proper chrome twitter feed, no? Either way, it has tweets about going to the store to trade in the old shoes too. So I would think if it were fake, and hundreds of people showed up, Chrome would at least mention something on their website about this being a hoax

Thousands of stinky shoes is sorta funny.... actually that's a pretty good prank. Hmm...

It is mentioned on their official Facebook page (linked from their webpage), unless someone hacked their FB page for two days, and nobody has noticed?

Also someone on the commuter forum claims they called Chrome, and it's legit. I suppose anyone wondering could just call the store.

well me and my coworker buddy just sent ours out, guess we'll find out soon if its a prank or not! we live close to san francisco so we should be receiving our shoes sooner than most.
i basically asked for my size in black or gray, or half size down in black or gray. hopefully they have 1 of those 4 options available, cuz i really dislike all the other colors.

They were doing in in-store exchanges for this, but I think that's ended. At least that's what it said on their Twitter.

Not worth the effort. I'm not going to take the time to pack up and mail out a pair of old shoes that I don't wear for a pair of new shoes that I won't wear.

Thats a fairly clever marketing campaign. For the cost of a few hundred pairs of shoes they get all this advertising. Probably costs much less than putting out ads in magazines, and they get all those people wearing their shoes who are so stoked they didnt pay for them that they will sing praises to everyone they know.

Haha. I think they're gonna get at least a thousand pairs.

And for any of you that think it's a hoax, it seems pretty legit... I drove from Davis to SF, delivered my shoes and a 6-pack... lol.

I was skeptical too, but I called Chrome and they said it's for reals. I think it's pretty awesome that they did this. I will gladly wear a new pair of shoes, since I haven't bought a pair of shoes since I bought my Sidis a couple years ago.

it's legit, been confirmed on the Chrome twtter and site

they may have purposely leaked the info out to just one blog to try and get Viral Advertisement, I mean lots of people will talk about this for the next few weeks/month
