can't imagine they'll be spending much more than an advertising campaign. but with this comes user experience. they just have to hope that it leads to positive user experience and people aren't complaining about how uncomfortable chrome's shoes are.

These mad limited time offers certain prompt people to pay attention. I have seen some crazy one hour deals on twitter from a few online bike shops.... makes you listed to all the noise in their feeds just to try to catch the next great deal at 3 am. The principle isn't that different than bonktown (which can be highly addictive).

they may have purposely leaked the info out to just one blog to try and get Viral Advertisement, I mean lots of people will talk about this for the next few weeks/month

you do realize that's against policy.. media mail should only be used for basically media

you're already getting free shoes, why cheap out $6 from the post office

Ska! 03-21-10 02:09 AM

WoundedKnee 03-21-10 03:26 AM

You're only getting 1 pair back.

LupinIII 03-21-10 03:30 AM

oh my god looks like a ****ing logistical nightmare.

two people working 16 crates. by the time i get my shoes my bike will be a pile of rust anyways

LoRoK 03-21-10 11:42 AM

And that was just the first day! Imagine how many they'll get over the next few days!

Edit: I hope they donate the still wearable shoes to homeless or some charity or something.

I don't envy those guys
Edit, some people have already got their shoes.

badonis 03-21-10 12:15 PM

I really hope they have more than two guys working on this.

Considering how much money the government steals from us, going "against policy" by using media mail to save a couple of bucks isn't any kind of big deal.

LoRoK 03-21-10 12:58 PM

I thought it was kind of odd to hear someone defending "policy" round these parts. Seems that's more the A&S crowd mentality.

WoundedKnee 03-21-10 01:04 PM

Sweet, I should probably expect my shoes pretty soon then.

They're going to grind up all the shoes and start making Kursks with recycled soles to appeal to the "eco-conscious" movement.

arcade 03-21-10 01:59 PM

i live right around the corner from them and i ****ing missed this.... i have so many goddamn pairs of busted shoes, too....

robotphood 03-21-10 02:24 PM

Can't I believe I missed this. I actually skimmed over this at prolly's blog too. Even if I wasn't going to wear them, easily drop them on ebay and get a new pair of shoes I wanted. Doh...

It would suck to be an intern there for the next few months.

LoRoK 03-27-10 09:45 AM

I'm thinking about calling them up and complaining that the free shoes are taking too long.
