Improved the beer hauling capacity of the extrabike... used surplus German military rain packs which were pretty much plug and play.

Ya think ?

Looks like more than what it is as the bags have to be able to expand to full size... each pack has a helmet web which looks a little messy.

Ah, the helmet bag, as you said, made it look a little messy.

Damn, those get big.

They are surplus German rain packs... will be contacting the shop I bought them from to see if can get a bunch more since many of my friends want one or two.

Will let you know as soon as I find the business card.

I don't think that I mentioned how much these cost and this might be a little shocking to some...

$2.99 U.S.

If my car had not been as loaded up as it was I probably would have bought 10 pairs of them on the spot.

You could not use these on a standard bike / rack as they are huge... my extra bike has a double length rack.

I am too Scottish to pay someone money for something I can do myself... the extension was a DIY project that utilized the rear triangle of a cheap full suspension bike and the Utility forum has a great DIY thread on home built longbikes.

The bike is going into it's 5th season and has never caused me a moment's problem and it always sees rather hard use because of the loads it carries.

Aw yes. rides so gewd

It will only get better with new wheels/tires/saddle - in time

I had to throw in a couple in-line barrel adjusters since removing the original brake levers. Braking doesnt seem to be effected.

Nice drop bar conversion there!!! Damn, that's a long stem for drop bars with modern-shaped brake hoods.
