Silver/polished silver deep-v

I am thinking about celebrating my new job by upgrading my wheelset. I am not big on all the crazy wheel colors, but saw a picture once of polished silver deep-v's and they looked great! Anyone have any pictures of their bike on either silver or polished silver deep-v?

I saw some silver B43's a while back. They looked hardcore...but without the velocity sticker the wheels will look stock.

B43's looking stock? Or do you mean regular v's looking stock? I like the subtle yet "edgy" look of the silver v's.

My bad, B43s never look stock.

The regulars might look stock.
I'm pretty tired of seeing teal and pink deep v's anyhow, silver ones are unique.

So...this thread was made for pictures of silver deep v's?

I don't think polished silver (or "bright silver" as the retailers seem to call them) deep v's are "edgy" at all. On the contrary, I think they blend in with almost any frame, and can either class up a nice, clean build or actually help to balance out an otherwise "loud" one.

Either way, I think you can't go wrong with the silver rims. They're quite pretty.

Here's a nice clean build from another user called vetuv

And mine, which I just finished building up the other day. It still looks kind of loud, but the silver veeps keep it from being way too TARCK (IMHO)

Very nice guys! By edgy, I meant stand out, but without looking overdone. Maybe "edgy" was the wrong word.

naterod - are your v's the velocity or weinmanns? Also, regular or polished silver?

they are velocity deep v's. Polished silver. I think most retailers call them "bright silver"

Oh man this has made me want silver over black for my new build. I am thinking silver to red profile hubs now. Plus my current wheelset is black.

And it is true, not many people have silver veeps.

Not a deep v nor a ss/fix but a 30mm rim in silver.

This ain't Velocity, it's Alexrims R475. Silver Polished with CNC treatment.

But depending on your taste you might like silver box rims like VO PBR. I luv that stuff.

Very nice bikes in here. The silver v's definitely add a touch of class.

Anymore pics of them floating around? I rarely see pics of them, however, I see pics of the colored ones all the time. The silver ones must not be tarck enough.

I ordered these as raw/untreated deep v's then handsanded/polished them. I'm never doing that again. From a few feet away they look awesome, but when you get up close you can see all the tiny sandingmarks/scratches.

go back over it with a finer sand paper. Maybe a 40 micron or something?

Bikes: tirove

you need a handheld polishing tool, and a lot of polishing compound. like a dremel or something.

The coarsest paper I used was 400 grit, then 600, 1000 and finally 2000, followed up by polishing compound. I might try the dremel option one day, but for now I'll settle for this.
