Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Normally I think Adriano is just a hater, but I'm kind of inclined to agree. Most bike thieves steal bikes based on which is the easiest to steal, so tape is unlikely to deter them. As far as keeping your bike in showroom condition? I suppose to each their own. I think my Madison looks beautiful as well, but I bought it to ride it and love it. Eventually it will acquire scads more scratches and dings that it currently has. While it won't look pristine, I imagine it will still look beautiful--just well loved.

duchess, why not buy some 3m clear bra? a 12"x36" sheet on ebay is like 15$ and you can cover all the tubes so that it still looks nice

Bike theft is a serious problem in Chicago.
theres no disputing that watertight argument.

I just ordered the Burgundy 2010 Mad also. Should have it soon.

Already bought the Vittorio White tires for it. And thinking about the Deda chrome drop handlebar, but I want to try the stock one first.

I am in the Chicago area too Dutchess.
