Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Venting (sorry)

You're famous! Be proud.

Have you tried some Febreze or a sprinkle of Arm & Hammer baking soda? Or how about that powder you sprinkle on carpet to get rid of pet odor?

SBL, take some Vitamin D supplements. I think the combination of the working at night and sleeping during the day makes for a lack of sunlight. Sunlight (UV rays) cause your skin to produce Vitamin D and without Vitamin D, depression usually sets in. A friend of mine who moved to Norway got really depressed during his first winter (23+ hours of dark) and found that the natives all took Vitamin D during those months.

Otherwise, you could move to California.

SBL - My sister started using voice recognition software (dragon naturally speaking) when she developed carpal. Any chance it'd work for your work? Lots of good advice from all. When I need to step out I just sleep for a really really long time.

165 - Um...isn't climbing with CTS...like...REALLY BAD!

careful you bunch of crazies.

When I found myself feeling trapped, alone, out of a relationship and out of my mind, I packed everything up and moved to philly. Started over completely, the new scenery made things good. I sold my truck and all my furniture, brought my bikes to the city and started riding everyday, everywhere. I feel alive again.

As far as the Bipolar... if you are not on meds, you should really get some its a horrible illness (like I need to tell you) and there are a lot of good meds that can make your life easier. Lamictal appears to work well with most of my clients (its fairly new), no sexual side effects like a lot of the other bipolar meds have....no rapid weight gain either. The nice thing is that even if you dont have insurance, you can usually get samples from most Psychiatrists.

Anyway, i hope you had a better day today and good luck with everything. If you ever do want to come visit Philly, you could probably crash on our couch for a few days.... its an "artsy city" and you can probably find an "artsy" job.... if that is what you are actually looking for?

bahhh, I need to get to sleep.

back when i was struggling with depression, and had no direction in life, i found a way to see clearly through the fog. my technique changed me from a borderline suicidal to a charged, ecstatic, enthusiastic person who no longer struggles with inner self in life. i accquired a copy of timothy leary's "the psychadelic experience", locked myself in my apartment, turned off anything electric, and took copious amounts of LSD. i would meditate, and perform yoga. i would reflect on my life, and contemplate existence, identity, and self. i would embrace the period of ego loss and clarity. all sense of self would be dissociated, shattered into chaos. i could selectively reassemble my self according to my own vision, and arise inspired. when the sun came up, i would go on a bike ride, while the streets are still empty. i would recreate myself.
i have not had to do this for several years, yet i retain the clarity, and focus of my own existence. i can still distinctly seperate external influence from internal, and sort through the hardest of times. i remain driven, and completely comfortable in my own karmic shell. i enjoy every minute of my life, despite adversity.
my method sounds radical, but it follows ancient traditions found in many cultures throughout time. if you do not want to go so deep, and still want to explore you inner power to control and focus your life, you should read alan watts. inner awakening and revision of your personal paradigms can bring you the peace and fulfillment you seek.
