A track frame for under $250...
I've been looking at the Origin8 Del Pasado, and I've been thinking about buying it but the brazed-ons look pretty obsene
. Would painting a new frame be a bad idea if I get it? And also other suggestions for cheap (monetarily speaking) track frames would be greatly appreciated.

There's quite a selection of track frames off bikeisland.com... you can expect quality but minimal name brandness.....
You might not even have to re pain the frame you get as the colorway selection @^ are pretty wide... BUT I'm pretty sure you;re on a budget and a repaint would be suffice if you do it yourself....

bikeisland.com sells most of the bikesdirect.com bikes as framesets otherwise ebay is a good source. i rode a VISP (generic Leader) for awhile and liked it, those can be had on ebay for around $220 shipped. just type track fame or track frameset into the ebay search field.
