plain white is boring.
just like vanilla ice cream.
You've basically made a chocolate caramel vanilla marble into vanilla.

That was some interesting but ugly paint. I wouldn't begrudge him painting over it but plain flat white is pretty boring. It's got some lugs, I would at least accent the lugs. Trace them with blue or something to tie it together.
Good luck with your build. It's your bike do what you want.

I agree that you should do whatever you want with the bike and don't really care if you converted it to fixed gear (so long as you didn't shave any bosses or anything). But if it were me I would have left the original paint at least. Also, I think the white crank on white frame looks a little tacky, but I'm interested to see how it turns out. Good luck with the rest of the build.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "get a new rime for front tire(matching w/ back". If you're meaning to get a blue deep v rim to lace to the front hub, it will probably be cheaper and easier.
EDIT: Just noticed I didn't finish my thought at all...
But I was meaning it would be cheaper and easier to just get a new complete front wheel rather than lace a new rim to the existing hub.
