Health Nuts

Since this topic came up in other threads I was wondering just how unhealthy is everyone? It seems that fixie riders predominantly are not very health conscious and ride just for the sake of transportation. So... do you:

A) Smoke (Cigarettes)

B) Drink

C) Eat pizza (or equivalent form of junk food) 4 days a week

i do all three but I'm working on #1. Funny thing is I'm in great shape

A. Quit as of last Sunday - no relapses so far
B. Yes, when can you start?
C. not that often. once/twice a week tops

but I am not health freak. life is too precious to be a freak about it. gotta have fun too

A) Smoke (Cigarettes) Yes, and other things, too. I'm, too, working on it.

B) Drink Yup, but not too often to excess.

C) Eat pizza (or equivalent form of junk food) 4 days a week Not really. Junk food, once or twice a week.

Bikes: Converted 1997 Trek Singletrack 930 singlespeed and a Kona Lavadome singlespeed, fixed Dahon folding bike, fixed 27" Miyata road bike, early 70's Raleigh Chopper

A) Smoke: Haven't had a cigarette since my company's Christmas party last year. Although I have had several cigars during that time. I am tempted to light a cig up from time to time but don't.

B) Drink: On occasion. Whenever we go out to eat I'll have a beer or 2. When I'm at home I'll have a beer or two or three. Haven't really drank to get drunk since my high school days back in the late 80s.

C) Eat: I skip breakfast. Lots of junk food for lunch during the week. Trying to cut that down as it gets expensive. Try to eat healthier for supper.

I am in horrible shape! I'm 5'6" and my weight varies between 185-195#s. Gotta start riding more and eating more sensiblyso I can exchange this keg I'm carrying around in my belly for a six-pack.

A) Quit the cigs 4 years ago.
B) Some days yes, some days no
C) Nope, I love to cook, used to be a cook and am too good at it to produce junk.
My pizza is stellar and the places I eat out at know how to do things right.

i do most things in moderation. after 27 years of living on this earth, i know that depriving myself of things i love just isn't going to happen. i do indulge intelligently though. or try to.

A) Smoke (Cigarettes)
No, Useless.

B) Drink
Beer makes the world go 'round. I enjoy the porter in the winter and the weisse in the summer and everything else in between.

C) Eat pizza (or equivalent form of junk food) 4 days a week
I "treat myself" once a week. Usually to perogis or keilbasa, YUM! Otherwise we eat "vegan" at home.

But non-the-less I am a fat bastard

A) Used to years ago, never really liked it then and don't like it now.
B) At a pub, yes and amongst friends. I never drink alone, definitely a social thing.
C) Pizza yes, once every week or fortnight. I don't consider pizza junk food, unless you're eating crappy frozen pizza or a whole pie of it. Otherwise, I'm pretty junk free. I don't eat meat really save for seafood - love Japanese way too much to be a vegetarian (though I have been) or vegan (like my cheese, though I only use soy milk).

Being healthy matters to me. After having had four relatives pass on in the last three years all due to bad eating and health habits, it only re-confirms this. I'm always telling my parents to eat better and live healthier.

Bikes: Fixie

To quote Dave Barry: "Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."

a) i smoked tobacco semi-regularly for at least 20 years - now it's been over three years since i've had one, i still think about them almost every day but just thinking about them is enough - hang on [165] you'll thank yourself.

b) i drank too much in the 80s. these days i like the occasional ale.

c) been careful about junk food lately, trying to instill good health habits in my two sons. i find it really affects how i feel. i lost twenty pounds (or so) last year by mostly just eating less food. best thing is to eat foods that are fresh, and colorful. eat slowly, stop when you begin to feel full. the rest sort of takes care of itself.

A) No
B) Mostly Jack, but I do diversify with some other hard stuff.
C) I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but I also eat a LOT. I'm workin on being a veggie.

Minus my little gut that won't go away ever, I'm in pretty decent shape, I think.

i forgot about last week when i drowned my sorrows and hurt pride in a glass of scotch...but i haven't had any since then, and i'm enjoying being "bright."

a) Cigarettes: Quit years ago
b) Alcohol: The occasional glass of wine or shot of rum
c) Junk food: I eat a "whole foods" diet mostly. Vegetarian, unprocessed food, etc.

I guess I am a Health Nut, but I try not to be very nutty about it. I am definitely not an evangelist. AFAIAC smoke 'em if you got 'em, Drink up, and throw yourself another burger on the grill. I am pretty much a live and let live sort of guy.

I would consider myself healthy. I'm 31 5'10" and 185. I can run a 10k without training (but I do pay for it)
