best pants for mashing up hills?
so i want to look good for the ladies while i'm on my track bike, but i don't have money for nice pants or shorts like the chrome or swrve pants. my jeans don't stretch very much and my muscles have gotten a lot bigger since i started biking harder on my track bike.
my tight jeans are really uncomfortable now.
since i spent all my money on paul malls and pbr tallboys and sweet parts for my fixie, what kind of pants are good for riding a fixie without spending more than a set of doublestraps?
i don't have a sister to steal elastic jeans from, otherwise i would't have this problem.
i would wear my swrve knickers, but they're winter weight and around this time of year they make my manparts sweaty.

rusty- well in that case i have to find an algerian speed skating suit.
the US colorways are all wrong for me.
i might be okay with norway's colorway...

but i'd much prefer australia's to any of the above options:

plus, i'd have to make sure my briefs are appropriately hip.

lorok- all joking aside, there's already a guy that bikes through my neighborhood with a utilikilt. that simply won't work with my image. i have a job in the public sphere so i can't be seen in anything less than designer fashion unless it's vintage.
anyone know what the speed skaters were wearing in the '83 games?

Would love to leave you in suspense and make you think you might be fantasizing over what could very well be a dude but no... the lady is Krisy Myers and some excellent Canadian content.

The interesting undies were actually used to demonstrate and protest at how translucent the skin suits were...

How skinny do you want?
Super Skinny= Comune. These actually take me effort to get off my calves. Good room in the thigh though.
Skinny=KR3W Kslims or Volcom 2x4's. I have both and ride in both, My KR3W's have lasted 3 years now.
Slim=Levi 511. But these tend to be a little tighter in the thigh and waist.
Straight=Volcom Nova or RVCA Leo's. Own both and both are great. These should both fit great if you got major bike thigh goin on. I am still skinny despite 10 years of snowboarding and 3 years biking so these are more of comfy straight on me.
The Volcom's and KR3W's stretch the most, but the Levi's are only like 15% cotton or something, Polyester for the rest which means better friction durability.
All of those have either elastine or spandex in them either 1 or 2 percent, and all of them should be under $75.

ill actually answer this seriously lol
there is this skateboard online store called CCS that makes some of their own relatively cheap clothing.
i got these recently....
https://shop.ccs.com/product/model:14...&supercat=Guys
and i must say i am pleasantly suprised how awesome they are. something they dont show in the details on the website (which is stupid on their part) is that the pant leg rolls up and has a button clasp to keep it rolled up. plus there is a blue/black patterned lining below the knee, so when you roll the pant up and button them it has a cool blue/black cuff...you can see it in this:
https://ccs.movadamedia.com/May2010/page.aspx?ID=55
so that is good for rolling your pant leg up when not wanting to get the cuff stuck in the chainring.
also the material is super lightweight and sort of stretchy. another huge plus is that there are zippered vents on the inside thigh, so you can get ventilation up in your crotch lol
the pockets are also nice and deep, i can fit a U-lock in the back pocket no prob.
i think the pants are made for skateboarding, but the button-up cuff, lightweight somewhat stretchy material, and 'pant-pit' ventilation are all great features for day to day riding.

Seriously, padded Cycling Shorts or Liners ($26) then
Find some skinny but stretchy poly or lightweight cotton flat fronts from a Salvation Army ($5)
and hem it (dont be Grungey) above the knee (Show those quads off a little)

I'll try and answer this seriously, too.
When I'm on my track bike and don't feel like putting on my full kit, I usually wear (in the summer) some soccer type shorts. I bought a few pairs of REALLY loud 1980s soccer shorts at a vintage store here. They are lightweight, breathe well, and give you plenty of room for free movement. Anddd they look awesome, IMO.
Of course, the weather in Austin is much different than Seattle, so my goal is to wear as lightweight of clothes as possible. Unless I'm commuting somewhere or planning to go inside somewhere, I almost never wear a shirt or jersey either.
And actually, I have this one pair of yellow, black and white Nike vintage cycling shorts. They fit like running shorts but have padding. They are my hands down favorite. Next time I have a camera I'll take a pic b/c I think they're pretty cool and I've yet to find another pair of shorts like them. Judging by the colors and logos, I'm guessing they're from the '80s too. They also have zipper pockets on the side. Man, do I love those shorts haha...
