Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? +1
I use B123's and have no problems letting one rip. I usually get in front of my friends, get on the drops and let it rip. Even through the wind, it's sometimes loud enough for them to hear

Up until last week I was not able to fart while spinning, but mustered up the courage to try in the middle of a 50 mile ride. Worked fine to my amazement. However, it wasn't on a fixed gear, it was on my road bike. I'll have to give it a shoot on the fixed gear soon.

It's pretty satisfying to be able to do though, I used to hate doing it because it through off my pedal stroke, but now it's no problem.

Here is how it works for me. When I am in the saddle, I feel like the seat plugs the gas. The only way to open the valve is to pick up my ass. Not a problem with a freewheel - stand up, relax, cut the cheese, and sit back down. On the fixed gear when I stand up my legs have to keep moving, obviously. I cannot relax enough.

My solution is to build up enough gas that I do not have to relax as much, so when I stand the putrid fumes escape even while all of those muscles are working. Problem with this solution is that I want to fart earlier, and not store that much.

I just need to keep practicing.

And if you fail, there is an added bonus: Nobody will want steal a skid-marked saddle.

That is the hardest I have laughed in a long time.
For me, going up hills usually builds up enough pressure to allow the gaseous fumes to escape of their own accord.

Cheers

You know, if you let too much build up, you run the very serious risk of spontaneous combustion.

i found farting is like skidding. at least, the actions for initiating it are the same. I go through the motions of a skid. so you know, pop up out of the seat like you're trying to unweight the rear wheel, let the squeaker rip, and sit back down and its all done in one fluid motion (which, aptly describes my pooes as well.....i should probably be mroe careful farting on the saddle....dont wanna shart)

You just need more experiences. Just practice and practice till you get it right. ... Just like skidz.
