Retrospec Beta SS/FG bicycle
I recently got back on the saddle. Ive been into it pretty heavy lately, and riding fixed gear has really caught my attention and re-ignited my passion for riding bikes.
After a bunch of adventures looking for different bike shops that carry all the dope gear, i stumbled upon a great new bicycle company specializing in affordable and stylish single speed/fixed gear bicycles named RETROSPEC.
The bike features an Urban Comfort Design geometry frame and fork made of Hi-Ten steel in 3 different sizes 49cm, 53cm and 57cm and 5 different color combinations
on top of that they also have great factory dress up items ready to make your bike more personal for that custom touch
Stay tuned for some photoshoots, videos and some media coverage coming up.
here are a few shots before its formal photo shoot
the bike comes about 75% assembled

comes with front AND rear brakes

48/16 ratio

40mm deep V wheels with 700x23c tires and tubes

yea i got the "skunk" model in 49cm

any questions please feel free to ask.
thanks for looking!

^haha that looks like a CG picture and thats the old ALPHA bicycle...the new website will be up soon, as you can see it def needs some improvement. its just growing pains...i do hope they sort it out soon
for now i can probably answer most of your guys' questions
as far as pricing, well just a thought...a few of the SE Bikes that are hi-ten that are only somewhat similarly equipped as this BETA model goes for $360 (both at MSRP)

Wow, that's some dope gear.
You sure have found all of the dope gear, and it's all on that bike.
you obviously didn't go to Bicisport Bicycles in mission viejo.

hey its california, gimme a break
btw, no offense taken guys, everyone is entitled to say what they want...if this bike is not for you fine, but there might be others out there like me that dont need or want $1000 frames, and $400 cranks for a bike we are just gonna ride around town and the beach with friends in...not everyone on a bike is an aspiring pro track racer or triathlete or just a plain ole bike snob

that nishiki linear and faggin are both ULTIMATELY nice bikes.
and i may be a snob, but I'm riding a 45 dollar BMX that pops tubes like a southeastern oxycontin addict pops pills and i'm having WAY more fun on it than your friends have riding their retrospectacles with their neon framed sunglasses and hurley boardshorts.
plus, my kilo's a cheap bike but it's way, way nicer than those... and i built it up from a bare frame. i'm a taiwanese made cheap fixed gear O.G. - so forgive me if i get a little pissy when people call me bro and shill out some ridiculous socal rendition of a 'fixie.'

Kandy, looks good, have you given the bike a name yet ? Since it's the skunk model, a suggestion, Pepe Le Pew ?

Like yourself, I am getting back into cycling too. My motivations are getting back into shape and I'm tiring of all the legislation regarding an automobile, primarily the use of traffic cams and parking ordinances.

scrod, it was just a point of reference regarding a comment on the price of my bike...which i didnt mention any prices at all when i made my post
killemall, how do you know the retrospec beta sucks? have you ridden one...i also have a hi-ten draft, its exatly the same, but the retrospec comes better equipped IMHO
fuji86, the bike is called the "skunk" from the manufacturer and i dont really name my bikes
but just like you my motivation is to get back into shape from a long absence, this bike fits in with some of my riding (road biking, fixed gear and mtb'ing)
vixtor, the name pepe le pew was an idea to name my bike, not for the company to rename it...lolz
and please explain why this is a horrible bike for the price?
have you ridden one yet?
i understand some of the things on this bike might not appeal to some of you but there are people out there that like it, like myself and i cant be happier...thats all that matter to me and as long as im on a bike....im koo

These are your bikes?
Seeing that it is only a hi-tensile frame, but listed at a price much higher than, let say, even a 4130 bike. There are many little companies that are trying to get some money out of the fixie sensation, most of them has one selling point - aesthetics; complementary colours, deep dished wheels etc etc.
This sort of companies only appeal to those who are also hopping onto the fixie bandwagon, they'll jump off once their friends stop riding them, that's why CL are flooded with all those complementary colours bike.
Sure, your bike might be better equiped, but who are you? At least SE is known for their BMX's. If you are pitching your bike to us, which you are, the majority of the forum will bash your bike into little pieces, which we did.

The bike is called "the skunk" because it stinks (whatever the damn price is).
