New Tires Suggestions

Finally, my tires gave out on me. Need a new set. The stock Windsor Tires (Kendas- Nylon I think)didnt last me to long.

Need suggestions along two differnt lines: one suggestion for quality, and one for price.

Haha thanks guys. My friend said CST Comps are good. But still wanted to run it by you guys.

Yeaah. Ill be skidding ftw. .

If you're going to skid...get the cheapest tires you can find. You will skid through them anyways, why spend a load of money on them.

Wouldn't a brake be cheaper?

Some hipsters skid to stop too, you know.

Point is, whether or not a brake works better, I need a new tire now anyway, since its worn down dangerously.

I mean, I know hipsters skid stop too, but doesn't stop me from doing it when I wanna have some fun lol.

I've been running a Gatorskin on the rear for a while, and it has yet to let me down. Only one flat, and that was a pinch when my pressure was too low and I had to jump a curb.

+1 on the gatorskins. I just ordered a pair of Continental Ultras, they are a little bit more substantial than the gatorskins so we'll see how they ride...

Just mounted some gatorskins, I haven't ridden them yet but they feel much more grippy and durable than my last set.

Also, get a brake, save yourself some money and protect yourself at the same time.

TheBikeRollsOn, what did you had before?

I have a Gatorskin front and UltraRace rear, both of them seem to be holding up really well, no significant signs of wear on either of them.

I recommend PBK if you're getting tires...they're usually one of the cheapest options when you consider the free shipping and 15% off if you use a coupon.

Personally i recommend Halo courier tires. I know they've had some bad reviews but i've ridden almost a half a year and the tires still have thread on it.

If you wanna skid, pick up a nice grippy tire for the front and the cheapest CST your lbs can get you for the rear. Conti GP4000 front with a CST whatever in the rear.

I only halfway agree. I had a CST out back and it was worn flat within a few skids. I do agree that a cheap tire should be used, but there are some more durable options for a little more than the CSTs.

I agree with that. I tend to keep every tire I replace at work and just use them on the back so all of my skidding tires are decent quality used tires to begin with. I have never ridden a CST tire actually.

CST's are crap as their build quality and material is horrid.

~~~A good cheap tire to skid on is the conti ultra sport; for the price you still get conti quality, although not made in germany. Check ebay for them; I once snagged 7 of them for around $5 a pop with shipping included.
Right now im running Conti Giro 22c on one bike and Panaracer Pasela TG's on another bike. I dont skid the Paselas but I skid the hell out of the Giro's and they are holding up well. Have some Vittoria Rally's the replace the Giro's when the time comes.
Iv got a stack of tires to start skidding on when I fell like swapping out the Pasela's.
