Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I often put my fixie and my Tarmac on my roof and drive to the local Starbucks, just to look cool.

Damn, I was thinking about buying a trunk rack for my fixie so I can move all my stuff AND my bike back up to campus in August. Now I feel like I should sell my car and buy a trailer for my bike. I'll just bust my ass up a 140 mile long hill to an elevation of 7000+ feet. Don't want to be a poser.

I had my Maddy on the rack last week...drove 100 miles or so. And when I arrived at my destination...I decided to go fishing instead.

but better, a few years ago I had two bikes on a rear rack and got rear ended, I lost my rear hatch, the rack, both bikes, and my Green Tea cappuccino.

If you sell your car, you can probably build your dream fixed gear/single speed. Or for that matter, buy a Trek Speed Concept =].

Way to go mate.
