Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Helmet Check

The real question is, do you wear your helmet?

Feel free to chime in with a picture of your lid.

I wear my helmet when walking down the stairs and when coming out of the shower, but not when cycling. Risk statistics awareness first!

Always on the track (mandatory) or off road, usually on the road, unless it's a really short trip to do a quick errand or visit someone nearby. The only time I've ever needed it has been when I crashed in races, and several times I got concussions anyway, so if I hadn't been wearing it I'd either be a vegetable or dead, but wearing a helmet when racing is mandatory.

Yeah I wear one, but I prefer not to. If I want to be safe then I'll ride safe
