I can understand the LBS need to make a profit to stay in business. But by the same token, there are better deals out there for similar equipment even at $ 699. For example, a Schwinn Madison that is a mile around the corner away is $ 599. Internet specials can be had for significantly less and any adjustments, tune ups & truing still would come in much lower than my LBS can deliver it. Just how hard you want to wheel & deal ? What some don't understand about the LBS, sometimes you have to establish the initial sale at a little higher than another place, once they know you as a good, reliable customer, deals are had on other things as they break or wear out. What's it worth to know you can go over the LBS and have a quick adjustment done or a tire inflation performed on the fly, no charge. Builds a lot towards the good will any business likes to have in the community.

I was going to buy a BB from my shop and have them install it, however, they were going to charge me $40 for a BB that I know only costs $15 and on top of that they were going to charge $25 to install it. So $65 for a $15 BB.
