I dig. What brand, wood, sizes, and plys is your kit? It appears you and I have the same ride cymbal. That thing can sure take a beating.

Its a PDP 805 Series.

Sizes: 14,16, (there is also an 18 inch floor tom. I just wasent using it at the time) and the bass drum is a massive 24X18.

And yes! the Sabian HH Duo ride is bad***. I use it more as my main crash, and it had great projection, controled overtones, and deep fat sustain.

Danzaxbonanza 08-03-10 09:36 PM

That's a PDP?! Woah, I haven't been keeping up on drum equipment lately. It's been all bicycles and electronic music for me lately. Man, those kits look slammin! I still got my PDP kit from when I was about 15 years old.

As a matter of fact yes it is. 14"x14" 197? Ludwig marching snare with a cut Pearl Eliminator snare stand to lower the snare enough to actually play.

I agree, this is a great thread. And now I want one of those thumb pianos! And a drum kit. Not that I'm any good, but I can keep a beat.

Double bass pedal, nice!

Those are my old ones! Those are Iron Cobra Jr.'s and i just bought Iron cobra Sr.'s

Danzaxbonanza 08-07-10 02:58 PM

Iron Cobra's are the shizzbomb. Although I hear nothing but great things about Axis. Anyone down for a double bass contest?

kato7997 08-08-10 03:26 PM

double bass pedals = floyd rose bridges

exactly. both can be overused to no end, but done with taste they make for some killer riffs. i, myself, use a dw 9002 dbl pedal. none of my guitars have floyd's though.

I've never seen a RR with a plate like that around the string through. Is that stock?

The guitar I usually record with:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...CIMG0872-1.jpg

I have it tuned to B standard but with the ****ty pickups it just sounds like crap on high gain. Definitely need to switch those out. Sounds lovely on clean with the neck pickup though.

BoozyMcliverRot 08-08-10 06:16 PM

Blicks....Is that a Rhodes?. Mine did have the plate when I bought it new,but yours seems a little to smooth edged for a Rhodes, much less a Jackson.

It's pretty clearly an Epiphone! I think they were trying to copy Jackson with the string through body and even the headstock, but everything is sort of rounded out...it's a cheaper model they only made one year.

Also I think they made the body bigger compared to the Randy Rhoads because the wood is light weight, and to balance out the heavy neck needed to be bigger. It's on okay guitar but I'd rather have a Rhoads.

Just got in the mail for my birthday! My dad's old G&L. This bass is so much easier to play than Megan's Squier, I figured it would sound a hell of a lot better, but not be lighter action or anything. Maybe it's the fretting? Anyways I love it so far.
