Diggin the G&L.
It's been too long since I've pulled out my Stingray 5. |

I dig this thread. I also have an L-1000, and it's a great bass. I strung mine with flatwounds for tubby thump. :) At the risk of embarrassment, here is my and my friends playing in the studio. This is an L-2000 with jazz neck. (I am on bass.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/CIMG4690.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/CIMG4691.jpg Just got in the mail for my birthday! My dad's old G&L. This bass is so much easier to play than Megan's Squier, I figured it would sound a hell of a lot better, but not be lighter action or anything. Maybe it's the fretting? Anyways I love it so far. My current axes are: 1987 Alvarez DY-39 w/LR Baggs transducer, 1983 Washburn M3-SW F-style mandolin(LR Baggs-Joe Mills Mic combo), 1978 Takamine Acoustic/Electric 'Logo Era' 12-string, 1976 Gibson Grabber G-3 w/custom EKG Select pick-ups(reverse P-bass configuration), 1983 Strat Standard. Also, I've got this mandola sized Celtic looking handmade instrument I bought on ebay. It's been dated to 1860 and has ivory banjo tuners. It really sounds great stummed, but not so good trying to do single note stuff. I use it as another sound besides the acoustic guitar on demo recordings. Fills in very nicely. Wish I knew how to post pics. :( |
